Dance Off II - Coming December 3

Those of you who follow my work know that my favorite thing to point my camera at is dance. Last year, I stumbled across a great charity event at the Pyramid Scheme to benefit the Well House, a Kent County non-profit that fights homelessness. This year's event, The Dance Off II, will be held December 3rd at the Pyramid Scheme in the GR Heartside neighborhood, where homelessness is a way of life, and the Well House people try and make a difference.

Here are a few images from the inaugural Dance Off last year. Please buy a ticket - $10 for general admission, $20 for VIP seating - and see some awesome, energetic dance, and fight homelessness at the same time.

Yo! Street kid busts a move.

Breah Simpson of Grand Rapids brings it. Breah was the eventual winner of a talented group of contestants.

Jonathan Williams, one of the organizers of the event. Jonathan is a partner at Failure:Lab.

Mark Evans II. He's a dancer, a youth mentor, and he's always moving. Plus, some of the coolest hair in town.

Team dance action

The esteemed panel of celebrity judges. That's Grand Rapids dance diva Laura Armenta with the peace sign.

I left before I could introduce myself to this young lady - she can fly. If anyone can ID her, give her my email and tell her there is a dance photographer who would love to shoot her.

Unidentified dancer busts a bold move. I liked this image so much, I put it in my dance portfolio.
