On September 1, I’ll celebrate my sixth anniversary as a full time photographer. On that date, I’ll also begin new adventures as I formally retire from professional photography.
It’s been an exhilarating six years. I’ve learned a lot, I’ve worked with great clients, and I I've come to have abundant respect for the people who do this for a living. But I’m not a kid anymore, and I’ve reached the stage in my life when I’m getting a little selfish with my time. Carol and I are healthy, we have four grandkids to spoil, and we want to travel and have time for leisure. It’s time to retire.
That doesn’t mean I’ll stop doing photography… I’ll be keeping Studio 616 so I have a space to continue creating. I’m just limiting my attention to personal projects and pro bono work for some special non-profits. Also, since I won’t be using the studio all day every day, I will make it available on a rental basis to other photographers, event planners and content creators.
If you are one of my wonderful clients, thank you being part of my adventure. I won’t be leaving you hanging in the lurch - my new Associate Photographer Olivia Ogden will be working out of Studio 616, and she’s prepared to help you with your studio portrait needs. Give her a look; she’s good.
Thanks for being a part of this dream. It’s time for new, even funner adventures.
